Practice pushing the limits of spontaneous story building.
This is a version of Build a Story – One-Word-at-a-Time, often called Story, Story Die! Rather than being an elimination game and creating a funny death to celebrate your failure, this version allows you to stay in and keep challenging the “King of the Hill”. The aim is to enhance your impulse to respond instantly. A great warm-up and really fun.
Do not be concerned if a student seems to be straying far from your idea of what should be happening to him or her. When students trust the scheme and have pleasure in what they are doing, they will give up the bonds that keep them from release and full response.
